For heaven's sake, is it that hard to word an eBay listing properly?

Not every lantern is a Tilley

It doesn't make it more valuable if you use the word 'storm'

Rare, vintage sought after and the like don't mean anything

Don't be selling a rusty pile of common junk for serious money and expect someone to buy it just because you want them to!

If you live hundreds of miles from civilisation, selling an item for a few £s or $s and then specifying collection only makes zero sense

    Rant over!

    Its not hard......
Put the word you are calling it into the search bar and see if what you have looks like the pictures given

You think eBay is bad - try looking at conventional auction house sites! ;) :)

I quite agree David but sometimes it works out rather well if you come across something that has been wrongly described.

This is true, the best bargains I've had are when the item was mistitled!

Agreed, but it's often difficult or impossible to know what it is that's actually for sale - like the lot I saw that said there was a 'Tilley' lamp amongst a load of other things. The picture of a cardboard box with a Beano annual on top completely hiding the contents wasn't all that helpful!! Could have been a pink VL1 but it was probably some old wickie-crap...
