Managed to cut off my text somehow! Found the lamp in a wee antique-cum-ice cream shop when we were on our way home from a short break last week. Perfect combination in my mind! Got a spare shade with the lamp but no pump. Not sure if any of the pumps I have will do. Also, which mantle? I believe the shade is an Evening Star one although not meant for this model. Would like to find the right one so that’s another addition to my wish list.
Lovely @Jean J I’ve not seen that finish on one of these before. I still keep an eye out for a frame for your hanging lamp, hopefully you’ll get that one complete one day if you haven’t already.
Why do some of you have trains so much on your minds? No, Matthew, I haven’t found a harp frame yet and refuse to pay what a certain eBay seller is asking. One will come along some day, probably with a crimson VL!
Takes their minds off other things I guess Jean. I’ll keep an eye out for another crimson vase for you as well, knowing my luck now I’ve got one I’ll find another instead of one I haven’t got.
@Jean J Hi Jean, What a lovely table lamp. This looks like it may run on Coleman fuel, Naphtha but a good Panel Wipe would also work. Of course I may be wrong on the fuel because it may run on Kerosene/Paraffin. There are many on your side of the pond who are far more knowledgeable then I am. If you have a Coleman type of pump should work. These take a standard size Coleman leather pump cup. As for Mantles the Coleman 21A or a Peerless 24A should work fine for your Evening Star table lamp. I look forward to seeing your new acquisition up and running. Cheers, Norman
Thanks Colin, Michel and Conny but Conny you already own too many beautiful lamps so I’m sure you don’t begrudge me this one.
I just love these. I have the same lamp marked as Kildark. Strange thing is I bought it from a guy in the US and as far as I know ES and KD were never sold over there. Rare things though. This makes three I have seen now. ::Neil::
