According to what Neil write in another thread about Fama lanterns, the factory was in Porto, Portugal.
(But set up by a Swedish manufacturer)

It is not me who is sure. It's Neil who is.
You need to buy a copy of the PLC (the Pressure Lamp Catalogue) from him
There it is stated that the lanterns you mention appear as branded either Fama or Lanterne. And a couple of models more, e.g. the D-106.
It is also said: "...it is certain that Lanterne is a Fama brand name".

There is much more, but I shouldn't quote the entire section from the PLC.
Hopefully Neil can sum up as much as he feel suitable.

I think it would be very good if you posted everything, thanks.
You take many, and good, pictures, and that is something we really appreciate here.
Just remember to make a separate topic for each lantern.

In the PLC I have :-
"Fama was the brand name for a stove made in a factory set up in Porto in 1940 by a Swedish company. From the style of the lanterns I suspect that might have been Optimus. They were taken over by Hipolito in 1956 and it is possible that for some years afterwards Hipolito sold Fama brand lanterns. The few examples known are of a older type using a pre 1940 patent pre heater but I suspect the lanterns may be later than this appears to indicate and this older technology was used in Portugal in to the 1960s."

I have seen examples of lanterns with both Fama and Lanterne brand names so I am pretty sure they are from the same factory. I also have seen a lantern marked as "Lanterne Made in Portugal" so there can be no doubt both brands are Portuguese. I also know that the Fama brand was taken over by Hipolito in 1956 so in effect all these Portuguese lanterns are from the same maker with an ownership change in 1956.

It is quite possible I have not listed all the lamps made under these two brands. I can only list items I have seen or have catalogue paper for. I don't have any catalogues from Fama so my list is just the lamps I know of with collectors. It is therefore very possible you have or know of lamps I have not yet listed so showing them to us here in the gallery may well increase our knowledge. ::Neil::
