I just acquired my first Hasag 351L . It is missing the burner cap. Are those available to buy? Also the other thing is the needle and jet are always an issue on old kero lanterns. Are those items available if needed? Screenshot_20190208-144729_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20190208-144704_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20190208-144719_eBay.jpg

Hello Tom, that's an interesting find. Looking at the globe cage and the preheater arrangement, I see similarities with this lantern.
    Hasag 351L in steel

    I found that a 250cp Petromax nozzle is a perfect fit. 19mm (3/4 inch) for 250cp, 25mm (1") for 350 and 500cp.

    Henry.

    Hello Tom,

The parts you are looking for can easily bought in Germany.
You do not need to tinker with anything.
I can give you an address if you want.

    Look,this ist really a Hasag 351L.

    Regards,Reinhard

Would a real HS Hasag lantern not have the HS brand mark ?
Looks to me a MEWA tank with a HASAG upper part.

MEWA did make full HASAG copies even with HASAG on the tank but (as far as I know) never with the HS logo stamped on it.

The Hasag 351L only had Hasag stickers on the tanks.
I am familiar with three versions of the Hasag 351L.
    It gave them in green(civil).
They gave them in a hard-to-defin color for the Wehrmacht (black/blue/gray)
And there was an little older version in silver with older vapurizer.
All Hasag 351L had a steel tank.
The pictured Hasag 351L I have repainted, without Hasag sticker.

    This is the silver version.
    Regards Reinhard

    M. Muschak from Munich sells Hasag/Mewa/Eugen.Schatz parts.
But the homepage is currently offline.

    Hi Reinhard,
thought the old models had a cardboard or pertinax needle handle. Not a plastic knob.
    Isn't it?

    @bp4willi

The black bakelite handwheel ist older.
The same handwheel was already installed on the Hasag 51.
The cardboard handwheel was certainly only a stopgap in hard times.

The first MEWA's had the old black bakelite handwheel again.

    Regards,Reinhard

I have a Hasag somewhere in my garage, I'll have to dig it out.:doh:It's one of the Hasag lanterns made in the East Germany (MEWA) plant. I'm not sure what model it is.:rage:It's all complete but the vaporizer wasn't in good shape. Everything else was really nice. Bought it from a fellow in Bulgaria. I'm going to dig it out and check it out. It's been years since I last saw it.:-k
