This is a standard Handi shade which I have only ever seen one. They came in solid brass or copper and cost an arm and a leg. So I guess not many were sold. Mark.
Do you have any history of the shade? Could it have been something that Kopsen or Nettlefold had made? As you say, it looks very much like a Tilley or Kayen shade.
@Nils Stephenson Hello Nils I was told it was found on a Handi lantern, The stays are riveted on as is a Tilley So I would say made by Tilley but was it ordered for another maker ???? I went and checked my collection and found another 2 here which I never noticed were smaller and lighter then a standard Tilley. Cheers Mark.
@Marko57 I have a few of the “Tilley-type” reflectors that are riveted. I’ll check them out for weight. I have a Kopsen Kayen of Jim Dick that has a copperised reflector like the one on the right it the photos above: Kayen AP2 Lantern (Kopsen; copper) Cheers Tony
