    Hi Folks
Just fettled this fellow. It belonged to the Queensland Rail, a Queensland Australia government department of yesteryear.
On the fount on a soldered brass label, if you look closely, you can see the QR separated by the government arrow symbol.

It runs very well on kerosene using all the original parts including the jet.

    Thanks for looking.
    Pete

I have a Handi identical to yours except of course not a QR lantern. Another well made Australian lantern.

Nice example Pete and working well.

The QR Handis do turn up every now and then and they are a nice addition to a collection. I have one that is NOS but has suffered a bit from poor storage. Still cleaned up nicely. I also have another one that has been well used that has a brass tag on it, but whatever was on the tag has been filed off. I assume it was a QR lamp.

Just saw this thread Pete. That’s a beautiful lantern you have there. It appears to be incredibly bright from the photo. I think you should take another photo of the lamp next to a bottle of ‘fuel’ or two. A couple of Aussie stubbies just to finish get off! Regards,
