Built this this evening out of a 3/8" diameter bolt along with a couple of nuts and a lock washer with the OD taken down just a smidge to fit in the pump tube. I already have tools to remove Coleman check valves along with AGM and Akron. It's a little bit crude but it seems to work just fine.
It is just a lock washer with the outside diameter ground down a little bit to fit the pump tube snuggly
Very good! I built a nearly similar tool out of a square bar…so I can also drive it easily with a wrench
I could remember making one out of a T-handled socket wrench by cutting off the end and then grinding/filing that section to form a fitting slot. It was used to remove the NRV on a Primus lantern.
I see that most of us go through that stage and make their own NRV removal tools My version made out of 16mm screw was posted there: My NRV removal tools I lock the screw head it in the vice and turn the tank. all the best, Piotrek
I have three. A commercial one with”enclosed” end found in a box of junk at a swap. Two homemade ones. One from 5/16 rod with a slot and a similar one but with the rod close to the diameter of the pump bore
Nothing beats a good old 'bodge' Some of them work betterer than the commercial ones and are a lot cheaper.!
