    Hi,

I recently was given two 222As and found the owner's manual online. After replacing the pump leathers and mantles, I was able to bring one of them back to life. I need help diagnosing what is wrong with the other one: with the pump knob in the closed position, there is significant resistance when I try to pump it. But when I open the pump knob (two turns to the left), I no longer feel any resistance when I pump it (yes, my finger is over the hole and the filler cap is firmly closed). Would any one have an idea as to what the issue is?

Thanks in advance for your help!

So what is the issue? Are you able to pressurize the fount (tank)? When you screw in the pump knob tight you are sealing the check valve closed. Have you checked the pump cup to see if it is damaged? This is a common problem but easily rectified if it is something in the pump assembly.
