This single mantle lantern was sold by Sears Roebuck and Co. USA. Marked 'Made in British Hong Kong', which, in my youth (1950s), was a mark of shoddy goods. I got it from a well-known collector in Northamptonshire who assures me that it does run but is very temperamental. It's in parlous cosmetic condition also, but the Coleman 690A051 globe has got to be worth the £5.50 I paid for it...
David that is the lantern that started me in this bloody hobby! I was given one with a bunch of wicky crap and it itched my curiousity bone. Damn that lantern!
I can't be certain but I strongly suspect these were made by the Union Metal Works in HK. They do look very like some Unimet lanterns. ::Neil::
Check out this link for a diagram of a Unimet lantern. https://classicpressurelamps.com/index.php?threads/1230
Not quite the same but close. I will post an image of a Unimet GL3 lantern which is near the same. ::Neil::
