I dropped in to a junk shop in Canberra and found this (plus a spare 1940s Tilley vaporiser and some mantles) for a very good price. The lamp is in very good condition, hasn't been fired for a long time and has obviously been a "display item' somewhere. It needs new seals and washers but it otherwise fine. It has a 182 globe. The reflector has been painted with house paint. I will get it up and running; keep the fount as is except to protect the existing paint with VHT clear (baked); and I will try and find the original reflector colour under the house paint (although I do like the post-WW2 green used on it - it reminds me of my childhood).
