    Hi wondering if this is some kind of Kayen AP2 or something else.

    It looks like the tank and top could be from a Nettlefold Kayen. The handle looks home made. The control cock could be Kayen with an old radio knob fitted, could be Tilley as well. Not sure about the pump.

    I'd say home done handles too.
    Some times they are very well done but I don't have 2 the same.
    That knob came with replacement seal kits.
    I must have 10 or a dozen

    Looks like Nettlefold AP2 to me- pump, font, globe, Enamel hood .
    (looks like a cocky's improvised folding handle) to replace ??
    (missing, broken, lost, or inconvenient) Original

    That's interesting to know. I'd never seen one before.

    Iain, where did you pick this one up from?
    I wonder if the knob is a state thing.

    Hello Anthony, Tony is quite correct (and I thought it was not in the usual lantern spot ;)). The location was Reservoir, Victoria.
    Thanks to everyone for their comments.

    @Sedgman

    I was watching, not bidding. I’m glad you got it.

    Cheers

    @Tony Press

    Thanks Tony for the comment. I am not much of a bidder online now as I really enjoy finding a bargain at a junk store or market and the Wimmera region in Victoria is good for that. Occasionally though some of those gap fillers that are seldom at markets, are tempting and nice to have a crack at. In this case I just thought the handle arrangement may have been indicative of an earlier model, took a chance, and not to be. The parts and globe on it are nice and I do like Kayen so overall a nice unit to fix a few new washers to when I find some time.

    Regards

    Iain

    Starting to look like the knob was more of a Victorian seals kit item.

    She looks like a good fettling project and it already has sparked some interest, knob wise. I reckon she’s a good score.
    Cheers

    The hex shape nut lugs look kayen , tilley are round, i could be wrong but i think the blue hoods were made in sydney, green hoods Melbourne, no writing on pump suggests kayen, control knob not farmiliar.
    Still a very cool lantern and i bet it has a great story to tell.
