I found this heavily oxidized Kitson wall lamp recently. It's missing the burner nozzle and burner cover but I managed to get it running.
Great lamp! I like the diskus style fount with the three legs and the filler cap with the knobs around it Will you leave it as it is? It correspondents very well with the brick wall
Very nice find , well done & working already , smashing Definitely a great idea to leave the patina as is you'd never be able to fake that I bet you were like a dog with two tails when you got it home & working Stu
I would recommend Owatrol oil to treat the steel hanger as it prevents it from further rusting without destroying the patina.
A good find indeed. I don't think I have seen one before. I like these Kitson burners because when you examine them they are pretty simple to fettle. The only issue I have ever had was with rust on the jet which can affect the burn. Some like yours seem to be OK though. Nice one I am green. ::Neil::
Is the light green powder on the lamp body "bronze disease"? I read that this can destroy brass objects over time.
Looking at the brand Kitson, then Kitson shows up with foreign names as ex. Kitson Lightning Stamford and ex. Kitson Licht, Wien + Kitson Lighting Brisbane. Is that the same company and did they get produced lamps by other companies under license if so? Claus C
Kitson operated a sort of franchise business with branch offices in many countries. Most were in effect agencies which sold British made Kitson product. ::Neil::
