This was gifted to me by a kind soul - many thanks!

Given it's age I restored it without doing anything too radical. It was washed with kero to loosen the grease and swarf and the slots cleaned with a tiny brass wire rotary brush. Then after another wash and a final clean with a tooth brush it was allowed today. The lid with the transfer and paper sticker were also gently brushed with kero and came up very well. The old screws were so rusty inside, one snapped off but after some very careful persuasion the rest came out ok. The hinges and catch were then cleaned up a bit but not polished.

The taps and dies were actually in good condition and only needed a wash in some spirit cleaner.

This is oldest set so far, apart from my BA set and I'm very pleased, not just because it's old but because it will be very useful!

Very nice; looks like the 3/16th taps are missing. Which is a pity cos I've got quite a few 1/4 ones and would happily spare you a couple to complete the set, but I don't have any 3/16ths ...

I've checked the tap sizes a couple of times and the odd thing is... everything that is supposed to be there (on the list), is there! Some of the taps are from other manufacturers like Warrior or TEC - but that is to be expected with a well used set - tools break with regular use and you have to replace with what's available.

Also, there is a die for every tap size. I came to the conclusion that they made one box for two different sets and in this set, that meant two slots were left empty. We wouldn't do that these days, but back then.... maybe it was just what they did.

What I might do is try to find 1/8th BSF taps - taper and butt - to fill the gap and a 1/8th BSF die that can go in the diestock. @steerpike451 if you had any of these i'd certainly be interested.

Sorry, 1/4 is the smallest I have- rest of the stash is mostly BA.
