    A Tilley X246B illuminating the lucky horse shoe which will go above the shed door if it ever stops raining.

    @Stuart Taylor

    Good old workhorse and an old tradition. My father always had a horseshoe above his shed door.

    I have 4 sitting on the doorstep of the former stable door here. When we bought the steading nearly 30 years ago the stable still had mangers complete with straw. All the old saddles and harness had been eaten by mice and had to be burned. We were happy to keep the horseshoes, maybe they haven’t brought us good luck but perhaps saved us from having bad luck! New doors and windows being fitted next week so won’t be able to hang the horseshoes on them.

    @Jean J Not having bad luck sounds like good luck to me.
