This lamp was presented by the lady of a great house to a young couple when they married and were moving into the gardeners cottage on a large estate in the late 1920s. It was for some years their only good light and did many years service for them. I acquired it from the guy it was presented to as a trade for a new condition M320 Vapalux and a three leg stove as he wanted a lamp he could use on a narrow boat and the vase was not really suitable for an unsteady environment. At present it works well but there is evidence of stress distortion in the tank and I suspect one day it will crack and fail. It is the only real genuine vase lamp I have ever owned and I am very proud of it. ::Neil::
