i has a few parts of Shmel-1 stove. it was tank and air pump. taking some irons that i find in my workshop and machined it a bit and added after crafting one to one the lantern was received as a result. here it is. enjoy! fuel is benzine, 350CP.
Well done @gideon nice work. This is what we call a “Frankie” ...... A Frankenstein named after Mary Shelley’s creation made up from different body parts....
Спасибо я знаю frankies, i am member of CCS for 7+ years and also did a lot of DIY stoves but this lantern is first.
@gideon ...... need a translator for you message above, but I reckon you’re telling me that you already know what a Frankie is. No worries mate. Cheers Pete
@AussiePete no need it, man, thank you. It was joke. I really know what you mean because i am a machinist.
I don't think the monster actually had a name (although I have it on good authority he(?) usually answered to 'Pet'). He was made from the body-parts of several unwitting donors by Dr. Frankenstein so I suppose 'Frankenstein's Monster' best fits the bill. Anyway, a Frankenlamp is one created from the parts of two or more donor lamps...
@David Shouksmith Hello David! i'm affraid there is no lamp/lantern parts in my construction. (firstly Frankenstein sounds for me like jewish name meaning french stone )
@AussiePete i am sorry, just saw that my message above was automatically parted and translased in first part to russian by google, i don't know why/how... writed it from tablet.
@gideon Well if there's not a single lantern part on that, then its not exactly a 'Frankie'. I'd consider its sort of a original lantern made by you.
Does this mean there’s going to be a new section for lamps made from non lamp parts? If so, what would it be called?............
This forum already has a section called Frankies, Mods & Hybrids in the Fettling Forum. Perhaps its a Mod? Modifications? Its not a Hybrid either.
