Hi dan looks nagel chase with that riveted base, seen a font like that on a storm lamp of a uk collector. That lamp looks like a petrol lamp to me is that thin tube the generator? if so must be matchlit petrol would think its early 1915-20s ?

Should think someone else may know better on here

    cheers pete

Dan, a quick search gave this 1919 catalogue page.
This is Neil´s territory so he will probably give you more info.

Yes model 3 for sure. The A denotes the shade type and is not a progressive sufix. So without a shade it is model 3. Shove a ribbed shade on and it becomes 3A. These are first listed in 1914/15 and still in the catalogues in 1919 but not after. I have just been looking at the PLC and it confuses me so I have to go change descriptions I think. Ah I see just got them out of date order. 3a and 3B come before the second model 3 which has a different tank type. Seriously complicated list to sort not helped because NC used the same numbers throughout and did not give them any progression suffixes so I have had to describe enough detail to distinguish them. Took me ages to get it right.

Nice lamp and one I would like some day.

Yeah I get them mixed up as well and I am supposed to know this stuff. Not a problem just report the post and ask for the title to be changed. ::Neil::
