Any idea of the date yet? My calendar is filling up fast and I wouldn't want to miss it...

Clashes with Newby Hall, so we're out too.

It seems folk would prefer Newark on 2-4 June. I can't make the weekend due to family holidays (half term). If someone is willing to take on collecting the fees, helping folk with the barrier (letting attendees in & out after hours with key card) & generally keeping an eye on things I'll happily move it to that weekend instead of 9-11 June . Please let me know asap.

It will remain 9-11 June. Already getting feedback they folk can't go the prior weekend.

The weekend before is the 'usual' weekend historically. It won't be every year or for many more years that half-term will be an issue for me with Tom being 15 now.

Whatever date you pick there will always be people who can't go... Unfortunately I just happen to be one of them this year as my callendar fills up so quickly and something else got in first.

Fingers crossed I can make 2018...

When a date is set people fill up their calendar around it.
If the Newark date is changed friends can often not change their arrangements.
I am fortunate in that I can attend on either week.

Tractor Fest 2017 - Newby Hall

Anyway, I might see you there (or maybe Barnard Castle...).

Perhaps it's because I'm originally from a farming community that I find old tractors interesting, that and the fact that there where still a few old boys who had petrol / paraffin models.

Been doing Newby Hall for a few years now and although the main theme is tractors, there are many other delights to please the eye.

Aah, the smell of hot paraffin on a cold morning.

We intend to do Barnard Castle but haven't yet got an application for an exhibitors pass.

    Henry.

Might I suggest a date is chosen now for 2018, it's booked up and announced so we can all put it in our diaries - or whatever it is we're using until we get them later this year. I think that's the way it was done in the past and there seemed to be far fewer problems.

The traditional date was the weekend after the late Spring Bank Holiday Monday which my diary suggests will be May 28th next year. That would mean Newark 2018 would be June 1st - 3rd. Alternatively, if we continue the current trend then it would be the second weekend in June, 8th - 10th. As a poor pensioner, either date would be OK for me, unless Mrs. Mayhem (or whoever) announces another election. I imagine those with kids of school age would prefer the earlier date, though.

If it helps, I don't mind covering Ross's role i.e. wandering about the field with a pencil and notebook collecting fees, letting folk in through the barrier, liaising with the Scottish woman etc. I'm getting quite good with the last of those tasks, lately.

    Just my two penn'orth...8]

Not before me @pete sav if you've got anything you know I couldn't live without.;) I promise to pay straight away as well, I won't make you wait 2 years again.:oops::lol:

Whilst on the subject, anyone going that has a tidy Coleman 228 preferably one with the small holes around the hood vent so that it matches my 220E, I would be interested in acquiring one. Mint boxed would be perfect, light use is fine, send me a PM if anyone's got anything. If not an "E", or doesn't have the small holes, if it's in the condition that I'm after, then I would still be interested.[-o<
