Best delivery I’ve had in some time. A Phoebus 615 has been near the top of my wish list for a while and I finally managed to get this one out of Austria for a very reasonable price. There is no glass (repro on the way, hopefully) and the lamp is in great condition. Original mantles, two jet and needle sets in the original spares tin and the original tin, minus lid unfortunately. Looking forward to working on this one.

I'm sure if you keep looking you'll find a lid that will fit. When you do, you should at least be able to paint it a similar yellow and distress it to look reasonably in keeping.

    A fine fettling project indeed!

Yes, hoping to find a solution to the missing lid.

A new cap gasket and nrv and away she goes. May be able to clean it up a bit more. Wondering if anyone had applied a clear coat over the original paint on one of these. It’s in good condition but the paint isn’t the most robust.

Wow!, nice score and great outcome. The Phoebus is another one of those that are next to unobtanium in my area.
