Hi fellas, i have an optimus 200? It has no jet and the needle is broken Any suggestions or leads as to aquiring new ones if possible Thank you. Ill post some pics later. Ill probable have some more questions
Fogas.se is the go-to place for Swedish lamp parts, as well as auctions on tradera.com. Petromax 821, and Hipolito 250 jets and needles will also work. Be careful with the ceramic burner cap; replacements are getting hard to find.
I seem to be missing the top cap, I've been looking in the reference gallery, dose any one know if i can still get one?
No, that is just the way the early ones were. There was obviously a meaning with the thread, but I have never found out what it is. I can see that there are a few later replacement parts on the lamp. The inner top frame and the outer top are from a later version as the original would have had a bracket on the inner top that screws together with the outer top. The J tube seems to be the original though. Replacing the top is not unusual as it was probably damaged by use or an accident and replaced with what they could get. Later parts will fit and work. What looks strange to me is the remains of the cleaning needle. It looks suspiciously like a Radius or Aladdin needle. I wonder how they got room for that.
I've never seen a J-tube being threaded on this end. What would have been the original purpose? I could only guess,.. for fitting on a locknut or something?
My poorly lantern, the ecentric block pin is brocken, I may have the skill sets to repare it, or can i still get this part?
It looks similar to those used on the Petromax and clones. Perhaps these could be options if they could fit in.
@Darryl Durdin If you are using Google to look at the Fogas.se website, use the translate function of Google. It gives a few weird English translations, but it useful if you do not speak Swedish. Tony
Thanks for the tip. @Tony Press Im in the process of talking emails with them, i couldn't work out how to order, postage etc. But i think im on track
Watching with interest as I've just started to resurrect my Optimus 200. I purchased a new ceramic, jet, seals, mantle etc from Base Camp. I had to wait for them to come in from Sweden, maybe they were sourced from Fogas? Stuart
Hi fellas i found this in my lantern any ideas what it was for, and did it come with a top cap / lid?
@Darryl Durdin Part No. 151 (i think) in this brochure https://classicpressurelamps.com/threads/1949-optimus-brochure-no-2322.214/ It goes inside the inner hood to secure the outer hood. The 2 holes should be threaded to suite the retaining screws.
