Optimus 200P

    This is a near pristine Optimus 200 that has been fired, but not used much at all. It’s in very fine condition.

    The instructions with the lantern (see below) are from the Försvarets Sjukvärdsstyrelse (Defence Hospital Board), and are dated 1973.

    It was quite common for military lamps to be fired up once to make sure they worked, then packed away again for later. That is most likely the case with this one.

    When Optimus bought Radius in the early 1960s, there was a lot of equipment and parts that came with the sale. It was not uncommon after that to find Radius marked parts with an Optimus lamp.

    This is another one of the 'odd' later Optimus 200s. The model is actually a 200P but the P has not been stamped on the tank, even though there is space for it. Was this part of a bad batch of tanks that got the wrong stamp and were then sold off to the military or some other reason? I doubt we will ever know.
