Here is a rather uncommon model of Optimus' indoor lamps. As with the 25x series, the 26x uses the same numbering. Here we have the 265 lamp in a harp frame making it the 263. This particular version is based on the Optimus 200 lantern from the middle of the 1940s. For some reason they must not have been as popular as the 25x models as you don't see many of them. The 265 was basically a 200 model with the edge of the globe cage turned up, instead of rolled under, to make a rest for the globe. The outer top got a similar treatment so that the lower edge fits snugly over the globe. It is interesting to note that the slots in the inner top to give space for the handle hanger blocks have been covered by small discs. The last four photos show a standard 200 lantern to show the differences in the globe cage. Since these photos were taken, I have had the lamp running on a couple of occasions and it works very well.
