Optimus 300

    Here is some pictures of my Optimus 300. Its in operational condition.

    A nice clean example and everything appears to be correct for this variation. Evidence suggests that this variation wasn't in production for very long.

    One thing iw noticed is that there are two different plastic wheels. One dark red maybe bacelite and this brighter red plastic. I guess this is an later model.

    Actually this is earlier (or in fact in between). This is the first version where they shifted the writing on the tank into one line and generally cleaned up the lines of most parts (e.g. the collar does not have nay ribs now). This version came sometime in the 1940s and was replaced by the 300P at the end of the 1940s. The last of the previous version (the old style logo and ribs on the collar) had a dark brown wheel that is usally a bit mottled. The 300P introduced a red/brown colour wheel. All have the same shape and size.
