Which year this Petromax 816 350 CP was Manufactured ?
Without reference to any kind of documents, catalogs or small details, I will simply make a wild guess:- 1950s.
Let's hear from the others.
Hint: my 'wild' guess was made only by judging the appearance of the hood with the larger and rounder vent holes that stretch lower on the hood as compared to earlier ones. The oblong slotted holes on the later (post 1950s) hoods are also slightly longer that those found on earlier hoods. The design is slightly different from the earlier Petromax.(besides not having the two holding screws on top of the hood). The profile of the steps on the upper part of the hood as well as lower towards the rim are also less pronounced/sharp and more roundish on later hoods.
My bet: Made in Altena, Germany since the early 50s and later.
Thank you Brother
Quite right. Before WW2 model 816 was a bracket lamp with an option to convert to a tabke lamp. ::Neil::
A lucky find indeed!
Lovely lantern and I love the “home produced” replacement glass lenses. I have a similar glass on my Kiran 350.
Does she light?
Well it also could be part of a bracket lamp combined with a table lamp. The bail seems long to me and not original.
Thank you so much Brother, Keep in touch - Regards
Just bought last week , Did entire cleaning, yet to lighten her. Will update you shortly
