Petromax 826 E Tank scratch 8/3 = Aug 1953 The Petromax post-war lanterns marked with an E on the type plate have a mixing J-tube attachement on the side.I only find this lateral J-tube attachement in my collection in 1953.All these Petromax lanterns from 1953 in my collection also have the E on the type plate. Until the advent of this lateral attachement ,the Petromax J-tubes were attached using two nuts.As early as 1954 , the new J-tube attachement was introduced , which unfortunately is still common today . The pressure vessel on this Petromax 826 E from Aug 1953 already bears the Graetz logo. Maybe one of the first.Unfortunately it had small holes on the top like a watering can.
Hello @Reinhard , nice lantern that came out well. As for the holes you noted on top of the tank: I'm not sure, but is there also a crack along the indentation at the top, between the holes? I'm just asking because I have got a tank where the flat section with the vaporizer fitting is completely broken out. So please be careful when pressurising the lantern.
Good evening Martin, Yes,there is a crack. The Material has been badly attacked from the inside . After testing and soldering the pressure vessel several times , I put the Petromax into Operation in the garden . A bottle of kerosene is almost gone .I'll check again tomorrow. Everything great
