    Petromax 828, Altena West-Germany

    Number 3611=week 36 ,1961,Monday .
The 4-digit embossed numbers were first used by Petromax in 1961.
Explanation of the details in the two red circles :
In the first circle you can see the base of the rapid. If it looks like this with the tank number 3611 ,then the tank ist from 1961.If the base still had a ring soldered on ,also with the number 3611,then the tank would bei from 1971.
In the second circle you can see a soldering aid. This can only bei found on the Petromax Rapid from 1961,62,63.Mainly in 1962.
In the enclosed papers you can see how much the 6 different Petromax's cost in 1961,in German Marks.
You can also see that the pressure gauges are only sold as standard for Petromax with Rapid. The red line at 1,5 bar on the Petromax manometer scale refers to the approximate pressure that should be maintened when starting the Rapid. The red line does not mean operating pressure or even maximum pressure.
If you still wanted a manometer for your Petromax without Rapid ,you had to pay an extra three German Mark.
