    Is there any way to date a Petromax with six figures as opposed to four?
    Stamp on mine is 037707
    I presume it is post 60s.
    Guessing at July 77?

    @Scouter Bill I believe these are not made in Germany but possibly China or another Asian country.

    Sorry, don't think these numbers are a date but rather a factory number of some kind.

    The three Santrax lanterns I have fettled all had serial digits at the bottom of the tank so I guess that it is a similar matter on these newer made Petromax ones.
