Hi, finally got around to taking my q99 generator out and looking down into the part where the tip screws in I see nothing as in no tip at all? Do all of these generators have a screw in tip?
Check out “Old Coleman Parts”. See the generator (with tip) here: Coleman No. Q99 Generator (Canada) NOS and here: Coleman Q99 generator Tony
It should have a "Q" stamped on it. Newer production ones have a "V". Depending on what you are putting it in a R55 generator is a contemporary replacement, with onboard pricker.
Fireexit1, I don't see any stamp on mine having a q or v?(After looking closer it does appear to have threads inside still left so that's a good thing but it will not pass any air through it so it probably needs heated and quenched if I'm lucky)
The stamp is on the jet tip. I mentioned it as the tip is shared among several different generators. However if yours has no threads then I suspect it is junk. As you are in the US these guys may be able to help : Old Coleman Parts > Categories Very often CQ lanterns were "upgraded" by fitting a R55 "roto" generator as it has an inbuilt pricker wire. It should fit as it has the same threads and same vertical height, and the same diameter gas tip. Old coleman parts have R55s on the website and some tips for the Q99. But if you have no thread... This lists all the CQ parts. Old Coleman Parts > 131 and Higher > Model "C" or CQ Lamp
