A very nice Vapolux 300, built in 1943, has found its way to me and would like to light up. However, the existing vaporizer is without needle and rod and also has no nozzle opening (anymore?). No. 537892 is stamped on it. My search for a similar vaporizer is proving to be very irritating for me. In the big bay, lengths are given in inches or zoll. E.g. 4, 5 or 6 inches. However, none of the information matches my existing vaporizer. What am I not getting? The vaporizer is 146 mm (5.7480314961 inch/zoll) over its entire length. Over the length to the knurled screw 134 mm (5.2755905512 inch/zoll). I would like to avoid a bad purchase, as the shipping costs usually exceed the value of a vaporizer. “Thank you!”
“Thank you!” Fireexit1 but I can buy a whole used lamp here for the same price as such a spare part used or even new from England.
The nozzle hole is closed, but the evaporator has a large hole in the top side and is therefore no longer usable. In my opinion, there is no point in trying to repair and clean it.
It was just that it is quite common for the Tilley and Vapalux type of vapouriser to seal itself closed when they sit for yrs.. I have managed to safely unblock most of them so i thought that might be the issue..
