Just a few days ago, this old Hasag 351 L arrived from France to me.It was offered with a photo proof when it lit up. But if you look at the parts it becomes clear that it couldn't have lit up. After stripping off the paint ,it turned out that it was a very early Hasag 351 L that was chrome-plated and once had a sticker.

An early Hasag 351L can be recognized by the vaporizer, the short ventilation slots in the collar and the hoodcap.

Because the threaded bushings are very solid ,I needed high temperatures and a Lot of silver solder to seal the leaks.

After I testet the pressure vessel and painted it with chrome spray ,the lamp was allowed to burn a liter of kerosene today.

The repairs look very neat. It is clearly functional now. Was it originally intended to burn benzin or kerosene?

The manuel states that you can use both fuels.Be careful when using petrol.
I also had to make the handwheel shaft moveable and seal it.I also repaired the J-tube.
