Hi fellas, i now have my SEQR going great guns, it took a bit but it's all there and bright as can be, it started of here Akron SEQR.? it has been a bit of a challenge as some parts were flattened and bent, the usual full of dirt etc years of neglect. the tank was a funny set up, but it did hold pressure, hood squashed, fuel pipe bent, vaporiser and air tube bent, i put everything through the ultrasonic cleaner and gave everything a general clean-up to revile anything else needing attention. i checked out the joints for what looked like had cracks but under test conditions there was no leaks. it was still in good shape. the vaporiser was in good shape the jet needed a good ultrasonic clean as too the vaporiser once i removed the restriction that looked like asbestos string, the tank cleaned up well. i made a backing plate from an old stainless plate i found at a second-hand shop i thought it would look the part and it does look very smart now i can start to get it all together. from here it took a bit of fiddling but i did master that and it now is a beautful restored SEQR. i used a mesh globe that suited an Austramax but did work out too good so now it has a new job. The lamp is very cool, it's a wall hanger as with the extra valve at the bottom made it not sit right.
What a transformation! Just straightening the hood is a real achievement as it looked like it had been run over? I couldn’t work out how the globe was fixed but I see that it is a mesh type and looks good! Just shows how well these older lamps were made? Great job
