Shiny versus brass

    They do look pretty. Bare brass won't retain that fresh, polished look for long if exposed to moist air.

    ’course not. A clear lacquer would preserve the shine and was the standard finish over polished brass for pressure stove tanks (not the Tilley CS56 though) of that era.

    But the brass will 'mature' to a less shiny, but with more beautiful subtle colours. But they do look so beautiful eh?
