Here is my Evening Star lantern. I'll let @Mackburner be the judge of what model it might be.

The polished patch on the burner above the generator is where I brazed a split in the pipe.

The check valve with a modified Fettle Box viton seal.

The repaired globe (chimney). My repair is the panel to the right of the sliding door.

NOTE: This globe (chimney) that came with the lantern is obviously a modified globe from some other lantern (its diameter has been reduced).

    As it came:

    Up and running.

    This is a fine lantern!

When I'm back from my upcoming road trip, I'll post a thread on fettling this lantern.

    Cheers

ES model R92076 early type with the flat top tank but all English made with an Akron S generator so around 1923-1926 ish. Nice condition and working well. Nice one. ::Neil::

    @Mackburner

    Thank you for that information.

I will probably get Fred Kuntz to make a mica globe for it. I have a couple of lanterns that need mica globes so I'll do a bulk order.

    Cheers

I was a bit concerned that my Evening Star wasn't burning as bright as it should at the recent Ballarat Light-up.

So I soaked the vapouriser (generator) in acetone overnight and blew air through the controls and fuel line.

When these mantles give out I'll change them to some that @dday sent me some time ago (I used them at Ballarat on a 1935 Coleman Princess and they were excellent).

    Cheers

It's hard to tell in a photo if the cleaning has improved the light output or not ?
The Princess did like those mantles at Ballarat. Nice bright white light.
