    Hi,

Help needed to identify this AL21. What type and year it could possibly be?

    Tommi,

My guess, and I stress guess, is your lamp is a 1960's Type 4 that may have had a pump swap at some time.

No this is a type 3. Type 4 has different air buttons and a pump from the X246A lantern. I can't be sure of the dates but 1950s for sure. Another clue is the colour.Only type 4 is painted silver all the others were black. ::Neil::

It is already in the gallery. It was moved earlier this evening.
But it's never wrong with additional pictures, so keep them coming here.
(Title was also amended after Neil's identification.)

If I had of used your PLC to try and identify this lamp, I would have read that type 4 were painted silver. Talk about leading a horse to water .....

I guess I cannot edit the original post and add pictures there directly... This lamp has been originally in fire brigade use: it came with red painted wooden carry box, with original unused 606 vapourisers (2x), original AL mantles (3x), original washer pack and spirit jar and torch. Needless to say, I was pretty happy to find this piece of history. Just changed all washers and it works!

Absolutely! This lamp will be used regularly, and with care.
Also I'm positively surprised how the wooden box and having all gear with me brings practicality to another level.
