    Here is my refurbished AL21 (Type 1). It had lived a very hard life.

    The mixing tube on the burner is steel.

    Patent stamp.

    The air tubes are steel (but not the buttons)

    P1060768.jpeg

    The knurled pump grip and cap are steel (as is the pump knob).

    A fair bit of panel beating was required (some still is... ).
    IMG_7518.jpeg

    Note the tank dipped in lead or solder.
    IMG_7610.jpeg

    I spent a fair bit of time cleaning up a sad solder repair and then resealing the pump boss to the tank.

    I had to make a new bracket for the front glass case clip, but I think I will redo this repair using a heavier steel, so more of that later.

    The lamp was painted with Duplicolor Engine Gloss Black. Glass supplied by @paul m; washers and seals from The Fettle Box.

    It's going well, but as I have another, this will go to the shelf.

    Cheers

    Well done on another well crafted fettle and the associated detailed documentation.
    Another lantern from our past restored and operational for this and future generations to enjoy.
    Cheers

    Well done Tony! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
    With all those steel components it's certainly different.
