This is a reflected railway track work lamp from about the mid 1950s. Not common now because BR scrapped huge numbers of lamps in the 1960s. I have not restored this one as it came to me in almost unused condition.

Hi Neil , I'm a newbie to the group , but do love tilley's, have a small collection.
I've just bought another lamp which looks very similar to this stunner of yours, but has a couple of small differences, handle on the tank and control cock , any ideas ?

Hello Dean and welcome to the forum. You have a nice example of a TL13 tank with the wrong burner on. That style of control cock indicates a date of pre 1939.
Have a look in the Lamp Reference Gallery for TL13 (opal shade, no globe) and TL14 (182 globe, no shade)
Table & Vase Lamps (TL & VL)

    Henry.

Thank you , i had a suspicion it was a mixture, but drawn to it straight away ,
I do like to get lamps mechanically working but love patina and the life history they've had ,
So as you say, a good project .
Thank you again for knowledge sharing .
