This lovely lantern came to me from a friend in the US, it was apparently imported by the A.W. Thacker Company Inc. Back in the day.

The feed tube to the preheater was cracked and I had to solder that one before I could use that cool feature.

Not my brightest lantern, but it runs real nice, and if it’s not windy the preheater works too.

I have had it for some time now, and this one was actually my first Tilley

A very nice example. She looks great.
The preheaters on these do work well if all of the components are present, as your is, and you work out the procedure.
    Cheers

Really, really nice example! I have a yellow tank example, dated Nov 1960.
    What year is yours?

Hi George, i'm not sure what year it is, can't find a date stamp anywhere, so pre-that date stamp anyways :-)

That tank with the groove around the base flange and stamped on the side was introduced in 1954 and Tilley started to date mark the base in October 1956. So your undated example is 1954-1956. ::Neil::
