I’ll stick my head on the block and say that if it’s enamelled white on the inside it’s a Tilley original.

It sure is original hood. Its been in the family for nearly 40 years now.

 

This is the paint I was told to use.

Out of interest, where did your family buy this lamp? Second hand shop, previous owner?

Thanks. 40 years is only half the life of the lamp and I wondered if you knew the previous 40 year history prior to your family acquiring the lamp.

An excellent job @Buggerlugs , Ex4 are a rarity, what a beautiful lantern, and even better when there is family history to it
