I was very lucky to pick up this Tilley FL6. It's the first of the FL6s with the narrow pump.

It was used on the railways in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I purchased it along with a slightly later FL6.

    As it came:

    After fettling:

Here is the the feature that makes this one of the original FL6s - the narrow pump:

Compared to a standard Hendon Tilley pump:

    The bits:

The Patent No. is stamped somewhat differently to the other FL6 I have, I will show comparisons elsewhere.

I had to do a bit of fettling to get the mechanics of this floodlight fixed, but it was mainly an easy job. I'll do a separate post on the fettle.

Washers, seals and pips from The Fettle Box.

    Cheers

For the record, even though this light is fitted with a GF control cock, the fuel riser has the deep fitting to take an XN cock.

    Cheers
