Hello, I have started to fettle my FL6 lamp. Dismantled and I have given the burner a preliminary clean. In doing so I found on one side an extrusion which has been sawn off and a nut with a screw has been inserted in the hole. The slot has been almost filed away. In my ignorance I have assumed that this burner is off another Tilley lamp. Can the experts verify this or otherwise. Also the silencer tubes seem to be old 1/2 inch copper water pipe. If I remove the screw will it enable me to dismantle the burner completely? As I cannot find an exploded diagram. Only the one in the instructions available on this site. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. Sid. 5B004228-70DE-41E4-8C1A-A05DB0B3AE57.jpeg 5B004228-70DE-41E4-8C1A-A05DB0B3AE57.jpeg

    Just as Jeff says.
You’ll really need to find a FL6 burner, they do turn up from time to time.
It might be worth asking Mike at base-camp.co.uk
Also advertise here on the site.

Whilst your searching for the correct burner, give this one a try. It just might work.
I would clean it without dismantling.

Is there another hole blanked off too, i find it odd that the tubes are parallel or are they not?

I agree with Paul and have been trying to wrap my head around how to make a three air tube burner work in place of a two.

Can we please get a picture of the other side and one from the top?

Copper will oxidise very quickly in that environment so it does look to have been used by the look of it..

You could try a dab of exhaust paste over the nut to seal it off ?

Has to be worth a go at lighting just to see it working?

Thank Stevie, also for the tip on BaseCamp. To my surprise he is only two miles from where I live and I had no idea.
    Regards,
    Sid.

Thanks for all of the replies and hints. I will fettle the rest and see what I can find. Here are the two photos as requested by John.

    Air intake tubes.

Obviously some-one's bodged a burner from one of the three-armed types. I bet that was a bit of a bugger to fit...
