    Very good!

What's you next one going to be? If you want to stick with Tilley, try an X246 Guardsman or, even better, a pork-pie. If you fancy a change of manufacturer, try a Bialaddin or Vapalux... :p

Welcome. Did you find that Tilley locally or did you import it?

I bought that Tilley nearly 30 years ago in a shop for sailing equippment, here in Vienna. I did not bring spirit to my sailing trip, so the first start ended in a disaster. After that the poor Tilley had to rest in my cellar for decades. Due to internet ressources I bought new new mantles and seals and gave her a new live.

That got me infected, I found other lamps. At the moment I own a Petromax 829/500, a Geniol 250 and I got a Bialaddin 300X from UK.

Compared to to the other lamps I'm a bit disappointed by the Tilly. Knob and pump do look cheap, at 3Bft it's hard to light her up as the wind blows the spirit flames away, and when releasing the pressure my fingers are sipped with fuel...

    kind regards,
    Alexander
