    This must be one of my easiest and quickest fettles. All that was needed was to strip the tank of the 'orrible paint, (which is why it is so shiny at present), the usual clean and seal replacement and there it is. Dating I guess from the 1930's. Original Tilley globe too. The hood is in better than average condition for these lamps.

    Very nice - it's a 'keeper' for sure, been after one myself but proving elusive so far...

    Well done, she’s a beauty.
    I like these PL53s, especially the older ones.
    Cheers

    Well, you only had to ask! :)

    It's good to see all the compliments it's getting now - in stark contrast to when it was Canary Yellow... :whistle:

    @David Shouksmith
    Steady on David. Where will I source my lamps from if you sell to all on here?:lol:

    I hope you approve of its new guise. I was going to lacquer the tank but I reckon I will leave it to patinate for a few months. The tank should then blend with the hood.

    It looks good to me, Bob :clap: although I didn't really mind it as it was. It was always a good lantern underneath... :thumbup: :D

    Super lamp and great work Bob.
    A little beauty.
    Have a lovely weekend.
    Must plant broad beans,peas and potatoes and attend veterinary webinars and change the washers with some guidance on my first Vapalux 300 (military green and brass)
    Warm regards,
