This Tilley SL61 was found at an fleamarket. It was painted black, but the black paint came off easy with only water. Under the paint was the original blue/grey paint. The original globe was missing, so I found a replacement on Ebay. After replacing all the seals, ready to light.
Nice lamp but is that a steel tank? It does seem to have the typical profile for steel. A lot of those pre 1940 Hospital lamps were all steeel. I can't be sure but I think the steel tanks were for the MoD who wanted a stronger tank to allow rough handling. ::Neil::
