This Tilley TL 106 is either very little used, or its been carefully restored (see discussion below), or both. It came from the estate of a collector (unknown to me). Gallery with springs on the outside (1945+) The fact that the paint comes up over and covers the first tier between the tank and handle is not usual for TL 106/136 lamps. This style of paint job is seen on Tilley Radiators (discussion with @Mackburner). It looks like a factory paint job, but could be a very professional after market job (the colour match seems accurate). I'll fit it with a 182 globe, and a top insect screen, and keep it a shelf queen, Cheers Tony
A fine looking lamp. The condition of the air tube threads on the mixer might tell something about the extent of previous use.
Threads are perfect on the outside; the main burner body is not distorted; the flamelet holes are perfectly round… I’m certainly not pulling the burner apart. Tony
