My best bargain ever for a Tilley table lamp, can't believe my luck, and it came complete with globe as well, the first photo doesn't show the globe as I was cleaning it, so I have put an after market globe on, as I'm going to be using this one for my shed. Yes you hurd me correctly I'm not going to polish or respray this baby, she stays as is. So time to get to work, and check out what see needs. First things first a flush out, all good very clean great sign, and thread a wire down the colom cool no blockage, even better, well now to check out the cock value and washers all good no need to change yet, I will wait and see, oh changed the plunger leather as hers was well you know? Ok time to blow out the burner and let's see. I think it's not to bad as I haven't changed any seals, let's add a mantle and see. The last photo shows she has been running for over an hour now, I'm so pleased with her, I hope you are too.
You can double your money and ship that beauty to me nice lamp and always watching eBay for them but shipping is a deal breaker score!
I wasn't sure if it was a different hood, but I believe you are correct, and what do you think for $20bucks?
She been running for about 3+ hours now and it's dark so it time for some more photos. Pretty good for $20 bucks
Awesome lamp, great find. I've been looking for one also for months but they are nowhere to be found where I live. Like @Pancholoco1911 said, shipping from the UK or AUS is possible but shipping it makes it too expensive for me. Maybe I'll try one of those aftermarket upgrades for a x246b fount one day and build myself a table lamp this way.
I can't believe my luck my wife and I were out hunting around and she spotted this, it's the top part of the gallery that I was missing from my TL106, which i got on the 20th June 2020. This is how she spotted it, I missed seeing the top part of the gallery which was under the Kayen hood, I must say i didn't have my glasses on and lucky my wife didn't need them, but I was going to buy the Kayen hood anyway as it was only $10 AUD. Now that's was i call lady luck. We have this saying that we use in our family (even the sun can shine on a dogs arse on a rainy day), so i guess the sun was shining on me. So here is my TL106 that i use in the shed, now she is complete. The top part really makes a big difference in appearance I think. Well now it's a $30AUD bargain.
@Jean J, no I have never had luck at winning anything, so I don't even try. Well I hope its the luck of God, not the Devil.
