Tilley under-globe bug screens

    0E092F7E-0379-4A36-9B20-51426297BF1A.jpeg These all came back to Scotland from Zimbabwe, I hadn’t seen a brass one before. One of them has a brass clip to hold it in place on the vapouriser, the other clip is steel.

    Me too.. I have two like the one in the lower right of your picture.;)
    Places like where I live can play hell with your lanterns from the insect standpoint!:rage: Insects get up inside the lantern and break the mantel!
    These are nice protection.:p

    You see plenty of the top two in Australia - often plated brass. The spring clip keeps the insect screen tight against the vapouriser.

    I have one of the top left ones on a a PL53 which came from the western Cape South Africa.

    Most of the Tilley lamps that came back from Zimbabwe had one of the type of lower screen shown in my earlier pic and quite a few of them had the extra screen on top of the burner. Just one had the domed screen on top which I assumed to be Kayen.
