    Here is my bigstevie in action that's what I have called this lamp as it came my way from the UK.

    It's been running for almost 3 hours now I believe, as I didn't take a proper look at the time enjoy, I know I am.
    Its alive.

    Here are some more photos as the sun went down on a 39 degree day and here I am doing a fettel, as this lamp took just over 5 months to reach me i'm sure I dont have lamtitus.
    I thought the lamp was lost.

    @Fireexit1, no way it's got a great home and amongst plenty of english friends ie: Tilley lamps and some Australian Kayen as well.
    Definitely not thats a no brainer.

    Something about those lovely old Tilleys, they just keep working (with a bit of help)
    I wish it was possible to get good brown hoods.

    I agree... ;)

    I looked on the ' official ' Tilly International website and a brand new black hood is £40.. so it must be possible for a reasonable amount to manufacture the brown ones

    I suspect Tilley are simply in the business of supplying spare parts for current lanterns and have no intention whatsoever of catering for the heritage market. You'll probably have more luck with Julian Shaw... :)

    Julian Shaw do some brown hoods but not the Guardsman style, makes you wonder how big the market would be?
