Speculum plated Tilley X246B in very good condition (June 1971). After discussion in this thread, I decided to keep this lantern as a shelf queen. A "two-lipped" Tilley hood in very good condition. The bail is removable form the cage. Accessories and spares that came with the lantern. The insect screen. A new old stock 606 vapouriser and cleaning needle. The box it came in had bee painted with white house paint. I had a contemporary box that still has most of its printing, so I've posted it here. Note the "Plated" print mark. I haven't lit this lantern. It's now in the white box. Cheers Tony
@Tony Press Nice clean example. A question about the metho jar. Does 71 appear on the base of the jar? I have a X246B from 1966 and 66 is formed in the base of the jar. Jar dated same as Lantern??? Thanks
@ROBBO55 Mine has 4 manufacturing numbers in base of the glass jar: “2” at 12 o’clock; and “834” between 7 and 5 o’clock (with the “3” at 6 o’clock. Cheers Tony
