    Hello,
First post over here, but have been on the stove forum for a number of years as "Texas".

A friend sent me this photo of a "British" lantern, but I don't know what it is and thought maybe you folks could tell me.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Photo's a bit small, Bob, but that looks like a Tilley X359 complete with 'Tillite' rapid preheater. Not a common lantern, even in the UK.

Have a look in the gallery here and check it out...

Bob, I moved it to the X359 gallery now when it was identified, and changed the title to say which lantern it is.
Can you check the bottom for a date stamp, and I will add that too in the title.

    Christer,
If I ever get to see it, I'll do that. All I have is that photo.
    Thanks,
    Bob

Well, that lantern is on its way at some time in the future. Son (he's about 100 miles from here) got it this morning along with another brand (Thermos) which I've never seen before. I'll post more photos when they get here and if I can figure out how to reload my camera program. Son says they're dirty but in pretty good shape. I'm not exactly sure what that means.
    Best,
    Bob
