Turner model 1511 gasoline lantern. Not yet in running order, but all seems good, so with a change of seals I hope it will be running one day.

I do like there big chunky Turners. This one looks pretty good as well. From memory I think a Coleman generator will fit and work which is a bonus. Be good to see it running. ::Neil::

Thanks Neil and Jeff, I think looking at it, the generator is in good nick, so I’m hoping it will just be a simple change of seals. Only the two in the pump anyway, the packing nuts will need nipping up, but the knobs are quite tight so perhaps some new graphite packing wouldn’t go amiss. There was some heavy-ish pitting on the top of the tank within the collar, but I think it’s still pretty sound, only one way to really find out though.

That looks like a beast of a lantern! Good luck in getting it running.

    Cheers

Beast is about right. I have a few here and they are heavy brutes which you would not ant to carry far. ::Neil::

Glad you all approve, I saw it on eBay and fell for it my self, I just had to have it. Luckily I was the only bidder, so I got it below what I would have paid. I will weigh it when I remember so you get an idea of how heavy it is, I’ll also get a picture with the handle up, it’s an interesting shape as it goes around the vent.
